MUDr. Jan Lejčko

Urol. praxi. 2018;19(2):76-80 | DOI: 10.36290/uro.2018.061

The treatment of cancer pain is an important part of a comprehensive oncological approach. Pharmacotherapy with strongopioids is of crucial importance. The currently available opioid agents, including opioids for the control of breakthrough pain, allow for appropriate individualization of pain management. The use of additional, more recent options of pharmacotherapy, such as cannabinoids, adjuvant analgesics, antidepressants, and local treatment agents, can contribute to improving the qualityof analgesia. In the case of refractory pain, interventional pain treatment procedures can be beneficial. Continuous treatmentmonitoring and multidisciplinary collaboration...

MUDr. Martina Poršová, MUDr. Ivan Kolombo, FEBU, MUDr. Jaroslav Porš

Urol. praxi. 2018;19(2):86-88

European Association of Urology recommends classification suggested by NIDDK/NIH (National Institute ofDiabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases/National Institutes of Health). Diagnosis of this syndrome is based on symptomatologyand presence of leukocytes and ethiological agent in the prostate and in its secretions. Treatment of the most patients is empirical.
