New trends in urine cytology

Urine cytology is nothing new in the urological practice and it still remains to be a fundamental and widely used method for detection of urothelial carcinoma. The Paris classification system has changed the way of looking at the evaluation of urine cytology specimens. Its forthcoming revised version aims at following this trend.
