Uroflowmetry: an irreplaceable investigation method to diagnose urinary dysfunctions

To evaluate lower urinary tract symptoms, it is important to utilize objective methods since subjective description of symptoms need

not completely reflect the reality and may differ significantly in each patient (1, 2, 3). Thus, investigation methods to obtain objective

results are used in diagnosing lower urinary tract symptoms (4, 5, 6). Uroflowmetry is among the basic urodynamic methods and its main

benefits are non-invasiveness, simple use, easy reproducibility, and possibility of repetition over time.

Keywords: uroflowmetry, uroflowmetry curve, peak urinary flow rate
