Anuria is a significant decrease in daily output or its complete absence. Anuria is usually a sign of renal failure; acute anuria is a sign of
acute renal failure and may be reversible while long-term or persistent anuria is a sign of chronic renal failure and is irreversible. It is a
serious condition associated with significant morbidity/mortality. The prognosis of anuria in acute renal failure is closely dependent on
the causative agent, the degree of kidney damage at diagnosis and the quality of treatment provided.
