Sexual behaviour of the Czech population

The authors introduce the basic results of the new representative survey of sexual behavior in the general population in the Czech

Republic (1 000 men and 1 000 women older than 15 years) and the comparison of these results with the previous surveys in 1993, 1998

and 2003. The results prove, that the trends in this area are positive. The average age of the first intercourse is stable, number of sexual

partners in the last 12 month are decreasing, number of condom and hormonal contraception users are increasing and the attitudes

of the population in the sexual issues are very liberal. In the area of sexual dysfunctions the erectile dysfunction have replaced the

premature ejaculation as the most common men´s sexual disorder (in 54 % of cases), in women the most common dysfunction is the

hypoactive sexual disorder.
