From October 2014 there has been available a „new“ per oral antibiotic for urinary tract infection in the Czech Republic - fosfomycin trometamol. This antibiotic, first described in 1969, is very effective to common urogenital pathogens include Gram positive cocci, but also to Gram negative bacteria with extended spectrum beta lactamase production. Prostatic carcinoma is one of the most frequent malignant diseases in man. Majority of complications and near all mortality is associated with metastatic and castration-resistant phase of prostate cancer (mCPRC). Except chemotherapy and targeted external radiotherapy it is possible to administer bone seeking beta or alpha emitters. In this short review authors present the possibilities and advantages of this therapy and its indications and contraindications.

Abiraterone and enzalutmide also led to an improved overal survival in docetaxel-treated patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer. Both have also been studied in chemotherapy –naive patients. Abiraterone and enzalutamide have less toxicity when compared to chemotherapeutic options. It is now clear that cross resistance is a potential therapeutic issue between hormonal agents.

The aim of this article is to provide an overview of sexually transmitted diseases and summarize the current legally binding regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Health regarding the mandatory reporting, follow-up and contact tracing. Another aim is to provide information on up-to-date guidelines for gonorrhoea treatment, which may become a significant health concern due to the ability of Neisseria gonorrhoeae to develop resistance to antimicrobial therapies. Only one regimen, dual treatment with ceftriaxone and azithromycin, is recommended for treatment of gonorrhea worldwide.

Treatment options in the care of patients with malignant prostate tumours have expanded significantly in the recent years. Local therapy, whether surgical or radiation, and watchful waiting are suitable options for localized disease. Advanced diseases can no longer be cured, but in combination with local therapy, particularly radiation therapy, advanced tumours can be affected therapeutically by adding hormonal therapy. 69 year old patient , in the meantime without positive urological history, examination for asymptomatic hematuria at the urology clinic. On the basis of clinical, laboratory, and imaging was performed with flexible cystoscopy. In this investigation, we found urethral polyp, accompanied by urethral stenosis, because the patient is indicated for the optical urethrotomy and urethral polyp endoresection.
