The authors report a case of recurrent macroscopic haematuria in a young man. Ureterorenoscopy showed an exophytic tumour of the
renal pelvis; cold biopsy was performed and urothelial papilloma was confirmed histologically. A preserving procedure was indicated
which involved laser ablation of a residual benign tumour performed with a flexible ureterorenoscope. The outcome of the management
chosen was a clear benefit for the patient including complete preservation of renal function.
