One-day antibacterial prophylaxis for prostate biopsy

Transrectal prostate biopsy is basic procedure in the suspicion on the prostate cancer. The aim of the antibacterial prophylaxis is minimized

risk of infectious complications combined with this procedure. The authors present own experiences with oral quinolones given

as prophylaxis. According to our results it is proven that one-day antibacterial prophylaxis is efficient and safe in prostate biopsy.
