URETHRAL TUMOURS

Malignant female urethral tumours are more common than male urethral tumours, but both tumours are quite rare. The prognosis of urethral cancer depends on its location and the depth of invasion. Superficial tumours located in the anterior urethra of both the female and male are generaly curable. Deeply invading lesions or those located in the posterior urethra, because they are almost always deeply invasive, are rarely curable by any combination of therapy.
